The CIC's full-scale industrial irradiator is an efficient, high-volume radiation processing unit.
The automatic conveyor system transfers the product carriers into the irradiation room and around the cobalt 60 source. The carriers can be loaded or unloaded in either a horizontal or vertical position. The plant can operate in three modes: continuous, batch, or incremental. The microprocessor system provides documentation, timing and monitoring of the irradiator's operations.
Features
There are 19 product carriers, each with two compartments where products can be stacked or hung from hooks. These compartments will accommodate products up to the following dimensions:
Length: 120 cm (48 in.)
Width: 60 cm (24 in.)
Height: 137 cm (54 in.)
The maximum product weight per carrier is 1958 kilograms (4308 pounds). The concrete radiation shield is designed to meet international standards of radiation protection for personnel up to 3,000,000 curies of cobalt 60.
Static dose rate up to 25 kGy/h in a field 36 in. x 100 in. are obtainable.
