Medical Isotopes

Targeted Therapies

Nordion supplies targeted therapies for a variety of cancers, which are focused on targeting the disease from within the body with a higher concentration of radiation directed to the tumour, thereby minimizing both damage to surrounding healthy tissue and unpleasant side effects. Nordion's main targeted therapies product is TheraSphere®, which is used in the treatment of inoperable liver cancer. Nordion is also a contract manufacturer for Bexxar®, a radiotherapeutic and CardioGen-82™, a cardiovascular positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent.

Sterilization Technologies

Nordion’s innovative and industry-leading technologies are used to sterilize medical devices, instruments and supplies for the prevention of disease. Almost half of the world’s single-use medical supplies and devices are sterilized with this technology. This technology is also used to sterilize a vast array of consumer products, including food, contact-lens solution and cosmetics.
