Glucotrace
One of the most commonly used positron emission tomography (PET) isotopes is F-18 labeled fluorodeoxyglucose (F-18 FDG). MDS Nordion supplies F-18 FDG under the trade name Glucotrace. Glucotrace is manufactured in our newest good manufacturing practices (GMP) production facility in Fleurus, Belgium as well as through our partnership with the University of Liège (ULg) in Liège, Belgium.
As a result of the growing demand for PET imaging procedures throughout Europe, MDS Nordion has invested over U.S. $5.8 million (€4.5 million) to create this new facility. With the production and supply of this critical isotope crucial to patient care, MDS Nordion is committed to providing customers and, ultimately patients, with a robust supply of Glucotrace.
With Glucotrace's short half-life of just under 110 minutes, reliability of supply is imperative. MDS Nordion’s two facilities now allow for greater reach into the regions of France, Germany and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg).
Glucotrace is only available in Europe.
